We at the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce are hoping to build and promote a community atmosphere of pride and participation. We are working to foster an atmosphere that encourages people to participate locally, spend their money locally, and be proud of what we can accomplish as a community. And we are pleased to announce the Chamber Challenge for 2017. The challenge will be a series of events where Chamber member businesses will compete to win the Challenge Cup and a prize package that is still under construction. Full details of the Chamber Challenge will be presented at the Chamber Banquet on March 28.
Our first challenge event will be the ‘WE can Change The World Walk’ on Saturday, April 29. This event is open to non-member businesses and non-profits. Each business and non-profit can gain challenge points based on the number of walkers that they have. Most importantly, the walk will serve as a platform for area non-profits to raise money through pledges collected by their walkers. Each group will be able to keep 100% of the pledges for their group. We are promoting the walk as a way that individuals can take personal responsibility to support causes that they believe in. We are also hoping to make a statement that by working together as a community WE can change the world. To register your group you can contact the Chamber at 304-748-7212 or email@example.com or Walter Ruszkowski at 304-797-7289, 301-914-6932 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
