PRESS RELEASE

 The Weirton Ecumenical Council invites the community to join in celebrating Juneteenth with an Ecumenical Worship Service on Sat., June 17, 2023. The worship service will be at Morning Star Baptist Church, 3124 Weir Avenue, Weirton, WV  26062. Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the United States and is considered the longest running African American holiday. The worship service will be from 2:00PM-4:00PM, and will include the following speakers:

Rev. James E. Brown, Morning Star Baptist Church

Bishop Darrell W. Cummings, Shiloh Apostolic Faith Assembly

Rev. Rudy McAllister, Mt. Olive Baptist Church

Rev. Dr. Samuel Ware, St. Peter’s A.M.E. Church

Rev. Dr. Samuel Williams, Christ the King Family Worship Center
